1. 360° vertical suction

3. TRUE HEPA (H13) filter
The TRUE HEPA (H13) filter purifies 99.97% of all suspended matter down to 0.3 micrometres (0.3 µm) from the air. The HEPA filter is the most effective air filter for removing: dust, particulate matter, allergens and other solid particles.
4. Active carbon filter

5. Ioniser ozone-free DIN EN 60335-2-65

Fine dust is a collective term for air pollution with particles small enough to be inhaled. Fine dust in the air can have harmful effects on health. In 1999/2008, the European Union laid down limits for PM10 fine dust (particulate matter with a particle size of approx. 10 microns) and PM2.5 (particulate matter with a particle size of approx. 2.5 microns).
The main source of fine dust, especially PM10, in the indoor environment is tobacco smoke. In addition, fine dust such as PM2.5 comes from open fireplaces, from baking and frying and vacuuming.

Use and maintenance

The clearly arranged digital control panel on the top of the air purifier features five touch buttons that makes selecting the desired settings simple.
The setting options of the air purifier CA-505 Smart:

• Timer for switch-off time 1 , 4 or 8 hours
• Week programming and switch-on and switch-off time 0 - 24 hours (adjustable via the App)

Exterior cleaning and Intelligent Particle Sensor™
Cleaning exterior of the air cleaner:
1. Switch off the device and pull the plug out of the socket.
2. Use a soft damp cloth to remove dust and dirt from the device.
3. Make sure that no water gets into the device.
Cleaning Intelligent Particle Sensor™
Clean the air quality sensor every 6 to 8 weeks.
If the PM2.5 value changes, dust on the sensor lens may be cause
Clean the sensor lens with a cotton swab:
1. Remove the cover of the sensor.
2. Clean the sensor lens with a cotton swab and water as instructed in the manual. Then dry the lens with a clean cotton swab.
3. Place the cover of the sensor back.
4. Do not wipe the sensor lens with alcohol or other organic solvent.
If the humidity in the room is very high, there is a risk of condensation on the air quality sensor. This may cause the air quality indicator (Digital Display - Particle Measurement) to incorrectly indicate that the air quality is poor (which should not be the case). In this case, we recommend that you clean the air quality sensor or do not use the air purifier in automatic mode.
Cleaning and replacing filters
Replacing the composite combination filter:
The Clean Air Optima® intelligent air purifier CA-505 Smart is equipped with a filter life monitoring mechanism that indicates when the combination filter has to be replaced after 1400 working hours. To indicate that the combination filter (Pre-filter, TRUE HEPA (H13) filter, active carbon filter) needs to be replaced, the indicator light of the air purifier starts flashing. Press the filter change button after the filter has been changed. This resets the change filter timer. The display lights up for 1 second, then the device goes into standby mode. Pressing the power button turns the device back on.
Depending on use, the combination filter should be replaced every 4-5 months.
Signs of used-up filters: increased noise level, decreased airflow, clogged filter and increased odour. If the HEPA filter changes colour, from white to grey or black, the filter should be replaced with a new one. If the HEPA filter remains white, it does NOT need to be replaced.
For optimal effect, the permanent pre-filter in the Clean Air Optima® intelligent air purifier CA-505 Smart and the combination filter can be cleaned monthly in between using a soft brush or your hoover (see air purifier CA-505 Smart manual).
Never wet or rinse the combination filter with water.
