Indoor air pollution: an international health problem!
The quality of the indoor air we breathe determines our health and well-being.
The less dust, allergens, micro-organisms, and chemical contaminants we inhale, the lower the risk of getting sick.
Demonstrated by studies by leading institution WHO (World Health Organization) and EPA (Environmental Protection Agency - the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency), indoor air in our living, working and mobility areas are often 2 to 5 and even up to 100 times more polluted than the air outside due to biological and chemical loads!
The problem is exacerbated by modern methods of energy-efficient construction. As a result, inadequate ventilation often causes undisturbed expansion in our indoor spaces with bacteria, viruses, dust mites, mold, particulate matter and
pollen .
Given the increasing burden of particulate matter and pollutants, clean indoor air is no longer a given. The quality of breathing air has deteriorated significantly in recent years. Everywhere in our indoor spaces, bacteria, viruses, dust mites, mold, particulate matter, and pollen can spread undisturbed.
Plenty of reasons to pay attention to the quality of your indoor air.
HEPA UV ionizer air purifier CA-506
Suitable for small and large rooms up to 60m² / 150m³ / 645ft².
Health starts with clean air!
The HEPA UV ionizer air purifier CA-506 features powerful filters with a broad operating spectrum against, particles, molecules, gaseous pollutants and odors. Through the application of five modern filter technologies, the air purifier CA-506 realizes clean, fresh breathing air and offers protection against:
• Dust
• Bird dust
• Bacteria and viruses
• Cigarette/tobacco smoke
• Fragrances
• Gases
• Fine particles (PM2.5)
• TVOC's
• Hair and flakes
• Dust mite
• Mold spores
• Pollen
With its slim tower model, neutral color scheme and ultra-quiet operation, the Clean Air Optima® HEPA UV ionizer air purifier CA-506 can be used in any interior. The wide and effective filter spectrum makes the air purifier CA-506 particularly suitable for people with asthma, bronchitis, COPD, allergies and persons with a weak immune system.
Effective air cleaning in seven steps:
1. Suction
Suction of polluted indoor air by the low-noise, powerful fan.
2. Pre-filter / Active carbon filter
The pre-filter captures larger dust particles and other pollutants such as hair and dander. The activated carbon filter effectively filters gases, chemicals, cigarette smoke, volatile organic compounds (VOC) and odors such as pet, mold, kitchen and paint odors from indoor air.
3. TRUE HEPA (H13) filter
Purifies 99.97% of all suspended matter down to 0.3 micrometers (0.3 µm) from the air: The HEPA filter is the most effective air filter for removing (fine) dust, allergens and other solid particles.
4. Tio2 photocatalytic filter
This filter can effectively reduce chemicals, bacteria and odors. The photocatalytic filter functions in conjunction with the UV-C lamp, creating a particularly powerful bacteria and virus killing effect.
5. UV-C lamp
The lamp's ultraviolet light (UV-C radiation) with a wavelength of 254nm kills health-damaging microorganisms such as: germs, viruses, molds (mold spores) and bacteria. In addition, microorganisms that have accumulated in the device are destroyed.
6. Ozone-free ionizer
Negative ions attach themselves to dust particles, microorganisms and other unwanted substances in the air and bind them together. In this way, the particles become heavier than the air and fall down or are filtered out of the air by the air purifier.
7. Purified air
Clean air flows from the top of the air purifier into the interior space.
Effectiveness Clean Air Optima® air purifiers with CADR certification
The Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) effectiveness criterion determined in vendor-independent laboratory tests puts both Clean Air Optima® air purifiers CA-506 and CA-508 at the top among systems for improving indoor air quality. The highly effective filter system of both devices purifies micro - fine particles down to 0.3 micrometers (0.3 µm) from the air with 99.97% efficiency.
The CADR value indicates the result with which the air purifier filters particles such as smoke, dust -and pollen from indoor air. This is measured by independent agencies in standard rooms up to 20.4sqm, with measured values ranging from 10 to 450 cubic feet of particle-free air per minute.
The CADR value of the HEPA UV ionizer air purifier CA-506 is 220 M³ of particle-free air/hour.
The high-end Clean Air Optima® air purifier CA-506 assures the user of healthy, clean breathing air in the indoor environment.
Easy to operate via the control panel
The clearly laid out control panel on the top of the device is equipped with four touch-sensitve keys for easy selection of desired settings.
Air purifier CA-506 settings:
• Turn on and off
• 5 selectable speeds
• Timer function for switch-off time (1-8 hours)
• UV-C lamp (switchable on/off)
Usage and maintenance
Maintenance and replacement of filters
Replacement of filters
The Clean Air Optima® air purifier CA-506 is equipped with a filter life monitor which indicates when the filters need to be replaced. At the replacement time, the air purifier emits an audible signal for 30 seconds, after which the HEPA RESET light in the display illuminates. Replace the filters according to the instructions below.
Depending on use, the HEPA filter has a service life of about 6-8 months and the activated carbon pre-filter about 12 months. Filter cleaning: for optimum effect, clean the filters monthly in between (see manual air purifier CA-506 chapter "Cleaning and maintenance").
Signs of depleted filters: increased noise level, decreased airflow, clogged filter and increased presence of odors. If the HEPA filter changes color, from white to gray or black then the filter must be replaced with a new filter. If the HEPA filter remains white it does NOT need to be replaced.
1. Turn off the device and unplug it..
2. Press the release button and remove the back cover from the device.
3. Remove the used activated carbon pre-filter from the back cover.
4. Remove the used HEPA filter from the air purifier.
5. Remove the new filters from the packaging and the plastic.
6. Insert the HEPA filter into the air purifier (note the arrow on the filter for proper installation direction).
7. Insert the activated carbon filter in the back cover.
8. Replace the rear cover and press it gently until you hear a click.
Restart the air purifier by resetting: after replacing the filters , insert a pen tip into the HEPA RESET area on the control panel to start the system.
Replacing UV-C lamp
The UV-C lamp of the Clean Air Optima® HEPA UV ionizer air purifier CA-506 has a lifetime of 8000 operating hours = 1 year of 24/7 operation.
The Clean Air Optima® air purifier CA-506 is equipped with a UV-C lamp life monitor which indicates when the UV-C lamp needs to be replaced. . At the replacement time, the air purifier will emit a sound signal for 30 seconds, and then the "UV LED" lamp in the display will flash. Replace the UV-C lamp according to the following instructions:
Restart the air purifier by resetting: Press and hold the UV button on the control panel for 30 seconds to restart the UV-C lamp life monitoring system.
